JOIN the Friends of Island Beach State Park Inc.
The Friends of Island Beach State Park Inc.
was started in 1996 to help in securing funding and to
support the growth of interpretive programs at the park.
The Friends also work to enhance recreational
activities, special events, educational programs, and
encourage protection of the ecosystem. All this means your visit
to this unique, natural wonder of a state park can be
an experience you will remember.
Members of the Friends, many of them are
park volunteers, also participate in many programs and
activities at the park. This includes the Island Beach State
Park Beach Plum Festival, Governor's Surf Fishing
Tournament, Becoming an Outdoor Woman Surf Fishing
Program, Barnegat Bay Festival, National Trails Day, Surf Fishing at the Beach,
Kayak
Tours, Nature Hikes, Interpretive Center Staff, and other
programs.
We are an active support group for the
park always looking for new talent and fresh ideas. If
you would like to learn more, you can call the Friend's
office, or stop in. We are in the first building on the right
after you enter the park, approximately one mile from
the gatehouse. Our telephone number is 732-793-5525 or email
membership@friendsofislandbeach.com for more information. An on line
application is coming soon! For now you may print out a copy of our
application form,
fill it out and mail it to our office with your payment. Membership dues are $15
for an individual membership and $25 for a family membership.
