Seine the Bay

Learn how to use a seine net to catch a variety of marine life that live in Barnegat Bay. A seine has been used for hundreds of years to catch fish, crabs, eels and other animals that have their home in the surrounding waters. Join us for this hands-on tour and discover Barnegat Bay.
Water shoes must be worn to pull the seine net.

Walk the sandy beach and search for shells and other treasures. Learn about the fascinating world of animals that live in this marine habitat. A naturalist will help you identity shells and tell you about this fascinating environment.

Fish Tank Feeding Frenzy

The inhabitants of our fish tank are fed daily after the seining tour. Watch the feeding frenzy as bait enters the tank. Learn about the Barnegat Bay food web and how each animal has its own niche. Receive a Tidal Marsh Food Web Poster.
